Definition time! Meritage: The blend of two distinct types of wines. Adventure Meritage: Blending wine and whitewater in a unique trip for lovers of vino and adrenaline. Adventure Connection has concocted the perfect recipe for the intrepid wine lovers of the world with a two day wine-tasting and whitewater rafting trip. On day one, after a night camping riverside, enjoy a hearty breakfast followed by a chauffeured drive to some of the local award winning wineries in the El Dorado County wine region. Between tastings of boutique reds, whites and roses, you'll take in a leisurely lunch at a beautiful winery with your fellow raft-mates. That evening, camp on the shoreline of the American, with dinner (barbecue chicken and tri-tip) prepared fireside by the river guides. The following morning, hit the river for 11 miles of zipping, zooming and whooshing. There'll be a lunch break between the easier morning rapids and the afternoon's more challenging runs. Finish with a flourish on class four runs, an exciting end to the perfect weekend mix of relaxation, rose's and rapids.
