Taking the concept of "farm to table" literally, Napa Valley native and hospitality industry veteran Andrew Wolfe serves as gastronome guide for Epicurean Excursions, an intimate, scrumptious tour of locally produced and curated food. Limited to a group of just eight persons, the tour begins at Model Bakery in Napa as Wolfe leads gourmet and gourmand alike on a delectable junket to iconic Napa Valley culinary treasures that includes artisan cheeses, hand-crafted chocolates, olive oil tasting, the Culinary Institute of America farm, and even a secret garden.
The highlight of the six-hour tour is an al fresco lunch featuring farm-fresh ingredients at Long Meadow Ranch amid the verdant natural beauty of the picturesque Napa Valley. Technically not one of the winery tours since food commands center stage, wine is certainly available for tasting at the many stops as the tour proceeds through Napa, Oakville, Yountville and St. Helena. Epicurean Excursions operates Tuesdays through Saturdays. Advance reservations are required. Private, customized tours are also available.
